WCIT 2010

The World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) is the flagship event of the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (see also www.WITSA.org). Every two years WITSA awards the organization of WCIT to one of its members. In 2008 more than 3000 people from over 80 countries came to the last World Congress on Information Technology which was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

WITSA's 17th WCIT will come to Europe, Amsterdam from May 25 to 27, 2010. WCIT 2010 will be different from the previous events as also the European Union has put WCIT 2010 on their official 2010 agenda. In Amsterdam among others the EU wants to communicate its Digital Agenda and share it with other nations all over the globe.

In Amsterdam, the world top IT and user organizations will work together to arrive at innovative solutions and cope with 'the challenges of change' for the future. Theme 'tracks' are formed around Energy, Water, Mobility, Health, E-Government, E-Inclusion/ E-skills, Sharing Space, Cybersecurity/ Safety and Creative Industries. User organizations will be able to influence the agenda of the tracks, the showcase selection, deliver a speaker and the delegates to be invited. Hosts are ICT~Office (Dutch ICT trade association and member of Digital Europe), the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, the City of Amsterdam and the European Commission. It will be the stage for the presentation and discussion for the years to come, addressing new opportunities for companies, governments and public institutions. The 'Declaration of Amsterdam', to be signed at WCIT 2010, will mark the 'digital road to recovery'.

WCIT 2010 will bring together over 2000 captains of industry, government leaders and academics, including Heads of State, EU and G20 ministers and leading CEO’s. Countries from all over the globe will be present with country delegations and pavilions. Already quite some countries have indicated to be interested in a partnership, often in a government-trade association combination. WCIT 2010 already welcomed leading companies such as Microsoft, Siemens, UPC, KPN, Capgemini, IBM, Intel, Motorola, Oracle, Ordina and Cisco (see also www.wcit2010.org/partners). If your purpose is to get the highest level global network contacts possible in the IT world (both corporate and governments), to be inspired, or simply to learn worlds’ best IT practices in many domains, WCIT 2010 in Amsterdam is the place to be!

Especially for countries, special partnerships have been developed, with various options like a special welcome for delegations, a country pavilion, speaking opportunity in tracks, participation in the match-making process, tickets to attend all congress events and extra Country Pavilion Tickets for inviting visitors for the country pavilions. Also a virtual Country Pavilion, country flag and editorial exposure to be published on the website www.wcit2010.org are possible. For all the benefits and details I would like to refer you to the attached special proposal. If some of your member companies are interested in a corporate WCIT 2010 partnership I would be honored to send them the corporate proposal after you have sent me their details.
